Sunday reflection 5 April 2020

Dear Friends

Another week has passed, and it is hard not to be together physically for worship. However we try our best faithfully to keep in touch. The list of those who have been included in the daily text prayer grows every day. I gain great strength from that. It is such a harsh way to realise that the ‘church‘ is not a building but ‘a people’.

I thank God daily for you all. Keep up the good work. Remember that not only is ‘Songs of Praise’ on the TV but ‘Reflections from the Quayside’ and the Moderator’s message are on the Church of Scotland website.

Radio is another way of keeping in touch, and Razvan has been providing music for you to listen to.

You will also receive the Easter Booklet of all my Reflections for Holy Week this year. It is called ‘Gable End’, and has our usual Evening Prayer, Readings, a Reflection and Poetry. Read one each evening and follow the theme. These will be emailed, and available through the website, but if you prefer a printed copy (it’s a 20 page booklet!), please contact your elder or the Church Office and it will be posted.

Stay safe,
George

Rev Mackay’s weekly reflection for April 5 is also accompanied by a piece from our musical director, Razvan Luculescu. This week, for Palm Sunday, he has chosen Hosanna, loud Hosanna (Ellacombe).
